I don't particularly collect anything but coins; but I have my great grandad's medals and a british forces belize zippo lighter to show you. Also have a nazi german lighter, and one of my relatives has a silk nazi flag - which my grandpa kept after lowering it and raising the union jack in italy when he was on bomb disposal.
Also - I do not collect banknotes, but want to keep these I got from a swap ...
Finally, I also do not collect stamps either, but will keep these (on envelopes from coin swaps) ...
In the past, I did collect ~ used fireworks, used gun cartridges, matchboxes, cards from tea packets, old bottles, and so on. So maybe coins is just another 'phase' I am going through !?
They are just my great grandad's - I don't want to collect any more than that because they are special to me. Although I have to admit that the medal engravings are quite simply amazing ! Nice little haul you have there though. I don't collect stamps but I always receive post from all over the world - so when I get it I cut 'em out anyway. I keep them for dptashny
I think I should start collecting bank notes too as in a lot of colonies only notes circulated or the coins are either really expensive or hard to come by !

Plus Edward VIII was not featured on coins, I know he was on stamps, and probably banknotes.
It's possible to collect Edward VIII commemorative medals for the coronation in 1937 which of course did not happen due to the abdication; there are quite a few going around and can be bought for £3-4. There are also coins can be found with the name Edward VIII from countries like West Africa and Fiji - generally coins that are holed in the center.
Yes i think most coins that are minted with a hole in the middle could be named Edward VIII this is because they were waiting for the official portrait for the obverse to be aproved and he abdicated before it was so in theory no coins were issued for circulation with his portrait............somewhere in a trash tin of coins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
