Once upon a time the State Quarters Series came out
Then came the National Parks Series
Same kind of Series for Russian oblasts and republics
And these old historical towns
My last series is not actually a series, just the complete list of circulating coins of Rhodesia & Nyasaland. It's emotional because it's a gift from an American Numista collector. There are collectors like that who are so generous
I do like animal coins ! And the 2 Zlote series is full of them ! I get only 8coins of this series with animals so far among other interesting historical milestones

I don't own any them, it seems interesting but I prefer circulating coins.
Thanks.
The Poland coins, I have 11 so far, with 8 to get.
The Turkey coins, I did have 13 so far, with 7 to get - but tonight I bought the rest.
4 from one supplier in Turkey, 2 + 1 from Germany (different suppliers).
2011 - 1 Lira (Asian Lion)
2011 - 1 Lira (Brown Bear)
2013 - 1 Lira (Demoiselle Crane)
2014 - 1 Lira (Byerley Turk Horse)
2014 - 1 Lira (Long-eared Hedgehog)
2014 - 1 Lira (Striped Hyena)
2016 - 1 Lira (Dormouse)
Not sure if these qualify but these Panama commemoratives peaked our interest.
And the Transnistria coins as well.My grandchildren and I have a book for colored coins from a few countries, including Canada.
Quote: "BCNumismatics"I have been collecting the Silver Krugerrand coins.
You can see mine here;
http://www.omnicoin.com/collection/BCNumismatics .
Still need the 2019 one & the 2022 one to complete the series so far.
Aidan.
I'm always interested in the historical and political aspect of a coin. If the Krugerrand is associated to the ounce of Gold, are there undersides, links or purposes for a silver Series ?

Originally, the Silver Krugerrand was struck as a commemorative (with a privy mark) to commemorate 50 Years of the Krugerrand in 2017.
Since 2018, it has been struck as a bullion coin following in the footsteps of Canada's Maple Leaf & the U.K.'s Britannia.
It is a pretty cheap alternative to the gold Krugerrand - as the price of 1 Troy Ounce of gold is pretty high.

It's hard to understand the adulation of this country for Vasco Núñez de Balboa, a conquistador among others, only interested in the spoliation of the indigenous tribes. On the contrary, to praise Ferdinand de Lesseps a visionary who attempted the first opening of the Canal would seem more reasonable (and at least he is French). The city of Panama always evokes conspiracies bred by a cosmopolitan fauna, confers the book and the film "the tailor of Panama" a little like Tangiers in the collective imagination.
However, the collection of colored coins in circulation is indeed a great subject of collection since the hatching of this famous Canadian poppy in 2004.
The series of composite material coins is nice to have. There are not many Numista collectors who live in Tiraspol, this city and this pseudo country that you will never visit.
I made an exchange with Kundik, no Paypal in Transnistria, any payment should transit through Moscow ... but there are always one or two relatives who live not far, in Moldova, so we always manage to get by.

On red book series I tried to get was the russian series on 1992-1993. But too expensive for me
There is one question from my side,
Have you ever weighed these Poland zlotys?
I have recently received similar coins on same series. Some coins weighing exactly 8.15 grams and some are like 8.23, 8.06 etc...
Is it normal?
Your collection is amazing, I also like coins on nature, animals etc...

Thanks. No idea - never owned any scales, never will.
I do not see the point - been collecting over 50 years and never needed them.
Maybe others members will weigh theirs for you.

Okay... I have just bought one pocket weighing scale. So weighed those coins. But at first place I should not have bought a weighing scale at all. Don't even know how accurate this scale also.
Never thought a scale can also upset me. Even a slightest of difference was enough to upset me.
Your answer has certainly helped me. You are right. No need for weighing scale.
In general, you have plenty of series with Zodiac signs, also of the Chinese years... I'm too lazy to find them, but I have some of them in my collection

Sure, Yes, but with more than 40,000 coins on the clock, I guess you had the opportunity to complete a series that sparkled more than others
Yeah and today I got one new one Kazakhstan 100 tenge 2020 and then Transnistria 1 ruble 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 to complete the series I already have, but I think there also might be some new years amongst those.
I only go for coins also put into circulation, but from time to time I'm not so sure if they ever do.
It's been a while since there are no more coins circulating in these countries.
When I was looking for coins that actually circulated, I mandated Kundik to find some of them in the flea market of Tiraspol. He told me that these westerners had weird ideas, but but he finally managed to find me two or three coins that weren't uncirculated

I am collecting the State Quarters and I am gunning for one for each state. Have amassed 25 so far. I've also seen the National Parks series in some loose-change baggies from our travels abroad but as of now am not collecting them.
Here in Hong Kong the only series worth hunting for are the circulating 1997 commemorative set... < Image sourced from 24carat.co.uk (the $10 coin was not issued for circulation.)
...and to some extent the Elizabeth II coins. I like the third and final portrait (1985-1992) but anything with the Queen's bust on it is fair game for historical preservation, because we all know how well the local Government's handled that.
