Should the Colonial Australia be split into different issuers for each colony? May not be many coins, but I think it will make it more easy.

If so, my proposal for a list here and in the furthest down link, a list of flags too.

- Australia
- Australian - Colonial
-> Australian - Colonial (for banknotes and undetermined coins)
-> New South Wales
-> Queensland
-> South Australia
-> Tasmania
-> Victoria
-> Western Australia

Can you give link of one entry for each of those new issuers ?

Let me see if it adds up, with at least one  entry for each suggested issuer:

- Australian - Colonial
-> Australian - Colonial (for banknotes and undetermined coins)

N#32313
-> New South Wales

N#324857

And a note: N#223143
-> Queensland
N#53478

-> South Australia
N#26430

And a note: N#209424

-> Tasmania
N#58868

-> Victoria
N#59243

-> Western Australia

Couldn't find any, either missed or miss saw when I made the list.

For rulers, I think, without having checked, Victoria could be applicable to most if not all..? But that could be a later addition.

Thanks

those coins were circulating only in their respective colony ?

Tasmania was called Van Diemen's Land prior to 1855, so the tokens bearing that name should be listed separately.

I agree with listing each colony's issues separately.

I may admit I am not familiar enough with Australian history to know about that. I make the assumption of them being seperate lokal currencies, based on similar cases like Canada 😅

Do you plan on doing the same kind of split with New Zealand?

There were not many places in New Zealand that had currency token issuers.

The main ones were Auckland, Christchurch, & Wellington.

Australia did not have states prior to 1 January 1901 - therefore, they were separate colonies.
