going back and re-grading ?

Wow, many many years have passed and recently I wanted to picture every coin I have, (another topic), anyways,
I noticed my earlier grading skills,,,B. well more or less was at least very amateur. After all, I knew nothing about grading. I can attribute numista and making trades, taking advice and willing to study the coins I have. Now I see many mistakes I made in the past, sometimes I would judge a coin on color or brightness, never mind the details, it looked good, lol.(8 Now, that said, I always have more to learn and by no means an expert, just saying "Ive improved"

looks like I was about 2 grades off for the most part, : instance, I would have judged say a coin UNC in the past and it was actually XF.

So, I think it is good go go back thru your collections/swap list every so often and take a re-gander at your details and grades.

Have any of you ever experienced this?
I've been adding pics to a lot of my listings also,
And I am amazed, disappointed, at how I graded some of my coins. Taking pictures of the coins really puts things into perspective. Everything wrong about my coins are exposed. I'm 60 now, and my eyes aren't what they used to be. So I use my camera daily. I've been whittling away at it, but it's time consuming.
My standards for grading have gotten more accurate and consistent over time. I've been overgrading less often than I used to, and noticing signs of cleaning more (sometimes on my own coins that I had no idea were cleaned). Even the TPGs' standards have changed over the years partly because of them seeing more and more numbers of and different types of coins
