The following comments appear:
In 1992, all coins were meant to have a wide "AM" of "AMERICA"; however, some were struck using the design meant for 1993 pieces (not using the proof, contrary to what the documentation says), resulting in some having a close "AM" of "AMERICA".
Below that is a picture showing the close "AM" with the statement "Struck with a proof die on a normal blank"
This is confusing and contradictory. Note that the 1992S Proof coin (and hence die) has a wide "AM". Also, the picture of the normal coin says "7,752,355,000 struck". It should be 4,648,905,000.

In 1998, 1999, and 2000, there were two different intended designs: those meant for regular circulating coins and those meant for proof coins. The design of the circulating coins was meant to have a wide "AM" of "AMERICA" whereas the design of the proof coins was meant to have a close "AM" of "AMERICA". Even so, some regular circulating coins were struck with the reverse proof design, and some proof coins were struck with the circulating design.
This is backwards. The normal circulating coins have a close "AM" and the normal proof coins have a wide "AM".
