China 100 Yuan P-907

Those who are familiar with modern Chinese banknotes know that the serial numbers were first generation L-L-N-N, 2nd generation was L-N-L-N and the third generation was L-N-N-L. I see that on banknote museum and now here on Numista that the 100Y 3rd generation notes were given pick number 907b and the 2nd generation notes were given pick number 907c. What gives? Does anyone have an explanation for this?
The reason for this is that if there's an error in the Krause catalogue, it is simply blinded copied in here. I am against the sub-numbering here, since there's really no need. Why do we need these comments?
