Description
Official Croatian Proof coin set of 8 coins.
It is dedicated to the city of Karlovac, the third coin set dedicated to Croatian cities.
Karlovac was established in 1579 as a military stronghold by the order of Archduke Charles II Francis of Austria.
Its hexagonal shape makes it an ideal example of renaissance fortification architecture, which proved to be a very good decision, since the city was never conquered by the Ottoman armed forces.
