Description
Coins were issued by the National Treasury up to 1968 when by legislation the right was handed over to the Central Bank of Iceland. After 1940 almost all Icelandic coins have been struck by the Royal Mint, London.
The coins in this set, designed by the Icelandic artist Mr. Throstur Mantisson, are all legal tender although the three lowest denom-inations are no longer in circulation.
