Description
This 8 coin Fine Silver Proof Set was issued by the RAM in 2006.
All of the eight coins in the set are based on the standard circulation coins as issued by the RAM in 1966. All of them have the Arnold Machin 2nd Portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. The 50 cent coin is also round as per the 1966 50 cent coin and not Dodecagonal as per 50 cent coins issued after 1966.
This set celebrated 40 years since decimalisation and included all eight standard definitive circulation Australian Decimal coins issued since 1966. This set was the very first Eight Coin Fine Silver Proof Set.
Coins were issued in individual capsules, then placed in slots in a Western Australian Jarrah wood presentation box, then in an outside cardboard slipcase.
