Description

This set marks the centenary of the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917 – 1921. A national currency is one of the main attributes of a sovereign state. Ukraine faced the need to produce its own money both times it gained independence – during the Ukrainian revolution of 1917 – 1921, and after becoming independent in 1991.

This set contains 1, 2, 5, 10, 25 and 50 kopiika coins, two 1 hryvnia circulation coins and a commemorative coin “100 Years since the Issue of First Ukrainian Postal Stamps.” The commemorative coin celebrates the shah, a currency that was used in the times of the Ukrainian People’s Republic. This set has an issue number of 10,000 units.

The 1, 2 and 5 kopiika coins are made of stainless steel, the 10, 25 and 50 kopiika coins are made of low-carbon brass-electroplated steel, while the 1 hryvnia coins are made of aluminum bronze. The 5 hryvnia coin is made of nickel silver, and features a pad-printed decorative element.
