(en) Eso may have been located between Iltirta and Arketurki, on the middle course of the Ebro, but the exact location is unknown. It is a town that has been related to Aeso, modern-day Isona (Lleida), a city that appears mentioned in classical sources. Aeso was founded between 100-80 BC on a previous Iberian settlement and possibly a Roman camp dating from the 2nd century BC. It was later a municipium in the Flavian era. Eso only minted a series of bronze units, probably produced in the beginning of the 1st century BC. The presence of three dolphins on the obverse suggests that these issues were struck under the influence of Iltirta. (source: Leandre Villaronga, Jaume Benages; 2011.
