Recently, many new versions of counterfeit Sigismund III Vasa (1587-1632) three-groat coins have appeared on the numismatic market. They often have features attributed both to Polish mints and to the only contemporary mint of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in Vilnius. Despite the fact that it is hard to attribute and systematise such imitations in detail, they are still important in the study of numismatics. Four abnormal three-groat coins are commented on in this publication (Fig. 1-4). They are also compared with those described earlier by Pavel Bohdanowicz (Bohdanowicz 1999, p. 43-47). The author concludes that these coins are the product of a separate underground mint. A highly skilled craftsman engraved stamps of imitations; a competent master who worked for a long time and eloquently combined attributes of three-groats from different mints. It is remarkable that he did not simply copy one original coin, but combined elements from different examples.
