Y.G. Tiguntsev publishes a decorative artefact featuring an early image of a double-headed eagle, discovered during agricultural work near the archaeological site "Alefin 2," close to the eastern border of the Starodub district in the Bryansk region. This gilded, almond-shaped appliqué, crafted using repoussé and engraving techniques, is likely of Western European origin. Stylistic parallels and the archaic shield shape of the appliqué, which ceased to appear by the mid-13th century, support its dating to this period.
