92 years have passed since the North and South laid down their arms, and only now has a book been presented on Confederate and Southern State Currency, which is virtually complete.
Criswell's Currency Series, Volume 1, Confederate and Southern State Currency, is 288 pages, and contains the amazing number of 388 illustrations. While the Criswell numbering system is based on the old 1915 Bradbeer numbers, the contents of the book contain all of the new discoveries and unlisted notes that have turned up, since the publication of Bradbeer. The State issues are wonderfully complete and the illustrations make it easy to read and understand even for the newest collector.
No prices have been listed in the reference book itself, since this method quickly out-modes a book In order to do away with this old practice, Criswell's intend to publish a yearly supplement volume, giving current prices, as well as picturing and listing any items which might turn up.
Anyone who has a problem concerning Confederate or Southern States currency, as well as State and Obsolete issues, is urged to correspond with the authors.
