On this year, all the participating countries wished to commemorate the 20th ANNIVERSARY OF THE SERIES by giving the same title to this 9th Collector Set, composed of eight coins and two commemorative medals. The coins will have the same sizes as usual, the Piece of Eight, also called the Spanish ounce, measuring 40 mm in diameter and weighing 27 grams.
For the coins in this latest set, it was thought fitting to recreate the designs featured on the coins in the previous sets, and in so doing, to represent the friendship and union of the Ibero-American countries over the last twenty years. The reverses of the coins, as in the previous sets, and as the distinguishing mark of the series, portray the coats-of-arms of all the participating countries displayed in a circle around the armorial bearings of the issuing country.
