Struck with prooflike finish for use in the Maundy ceremony and with a dull surface for domestic circulation. The standard weight of this coin was 1/22 troy ounce or 21.8 grains.

KM#797.1 (1902-04) Reverse 3 has longer 'nose' (1), smaller 'tail' (2) and longer 'oblique' (3);

KM#797.2 (1904-10) Reverse 3 has shorter 'nose' (1), larger 'tail' (2) and shorter 'oblique' (3);
Prooflike coins can be more difficult to separate from the currency strikes;

Demonetization note: Whilst the circulation strikes have been demonetized, the Maundy issues
