Nikaragua, będąca częścią Kapitanatu Generalnego Gwatemali, nie musiała bić własnych monet; dlatego też nie ma żadnej zwykłej monety kolonialnej Real. Jedynymi monetami w systemie Real były monety proklamacyjne bite pod koniec kolonii. W tym przypadku moneta ta odpowiada krótkiemu okresowi pod panowaniem Imperium Meksykańskiego.
