(en) Near threatened species. It is a dominant species in the arid open oak forests of South Armenia (Zangezur and Meghri floristic regions). It was included in the first edition of the Red Data Book of Armenia as Quercus infectoria ssp. boissieri under Category 3: Reducing species.
