Issued in annual silver set (sales unknown) as well as individually (10,000 issue limit; 8,310 sales), the coin was also struck in copper-nickel, silver piedfort and gold proof.

Spink#K22A - Error edge. The obverse and reverse designs of the Act of Union silver proof combined with the edge inscription of the Abolition of the Slave Trade issue “UNITED INTO ONE KINGDOM” (Spink#K23). The edge inscription is impressed on the blanks prior to the striking of the obverse and reverse designs and whilst one example has been reported, and confirmed as genuine by the Royal Mint, it seems possible that a small batch may have been produced and other pieces have yet to be detected.
