This coin was struck at the behest of Simon (or Svimon, 1683-1740 AD), a Georgian prince royal of the Bagrationi dynasty of House of Mukhrani of Kartli, who ruled Kartli as a regent from 1712 to 1714 AD during the absence of his half-brother Vakhtang VI.
