Paul Neagu wrote the following about this medal:
Sculpture's history is marked in all periods and cultures, along centuries, with 'hyphens' …. that particular moment of mediation between time and space, between energy and matter, a link as a neutral referent of anchoring. Hyphen is a pivot and a pointer. The Greeks called a ‘herm’, a plinth with a phallus on which a guiding and guarding head was placed as catalyst for the traveller. I have made many hyphens, of many materials, since 1975. My own interpretation is embedded in the symbolic geometry of sculptural articulation which combines metaphor with concrete palpable texture. The medal I made in 1985 is a celebration of this awareness; on its own a double faced seal which wants to mark the constancy of reltionship and betweenness.
