The purpose of these magnificent and gloriously large pieces is not entirely known. Minted to the Attic Drachm standard, two coins of this denomination are known for this King, with the other displaying a City Goddess. At least six were found in a hoard near Kunduz in 1946, and more may exist. Most were stored in Kabul Museum, but some were stolen and allegedly sold.
