Struck in Bukhara by abu Da`ud Khalid b. Ibrahim as governor of Khorasan These drachms were styled after the coinage of the Bukhar Khudat Dynasty, which ruled Bukhara prior to the Arab conquest of Transoxiana.
Abi Da’ud Khalid was one of the main officers of Abu Muslim, serving as his deputy in Khurasan and Maveranahr. He was left in charge when Abu Muslim left for Iraq in AH 137 (754-5 AD). Later the same year, after the death of Abu Muslim, Caliph Al-Mansur promoted Abi Da’ud Khalid to Governor of Khurasan. He was killed by Shi’itte rebels in AH 140 (754-5 AD).
