Uniontown is one of two cities in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, along with its county seat. Right on the edge of the Appalachian Mountains, it was founded by Henry Beeson on July 4th, 1776, coincidentally the same day the United States declared its independence. It was the home of George C. Marshall, known for his plan to rebuild Europe after World War II, named the Marshall Plan. It is also the home of the famous McDonald’s Big Mac, along with its inventor, Jim Delligatti.
