Talbot: Bury C. From a Roman Republican prototype of Roma. Early and contemporanous with Bury A (which has a Gallo-Belgic prototype) and Bury H (which is almost the same as Bury A but obverse facing right). Probably contemporaneous with the Bury quarter. There are two subtypes of Bury C:
Subtype 1a: Multi-spoke wheel above the horse, spiral before, larger pellet below sometimes adjacent to small triskele with three S-shaped arms. This is COI 3a and 3d.
Subtype 1b: Small pellet and two small rings below the horse, similar elements above with a crude, deeply-cut oval. Sometimes four small rings in centre of cross in front. This is COI 3b.
Subtype 2: Pellet triad between ear and eye in place of two locks of hair; outer border of alternating pellet and arcs. Either a ring containing seven pellets with other smaller pellets above the horse and a larger pellet below, spiral before, larger pellet below. This is COI 3c.

Talbot Chronology: Gallo-Belgic E/Ingoldisthorpe - Early Local Period I (55BC-35BC) - Early Local Period II (35BC-15BC) - Denominational Period I (15BC-5: Snettisham - Plouviez - Irstead - Early Boar Horse) - Denominational Period II (5-25: Boar Horse B - Boar Horse C) - Denominational Period III (25-45).

Cottam and Rudd list four types:
COI 3a (Talbot Bury C1a) - Bury Helmet Wheel Type (14 known): Spoked wheel above horse. Tends to be found in the central part of the Icenian region (see Chris Rudd List 166, 12 August 2019, lot 18).
COI 3b (Talbot Bury C1b) - Bury Helmet Wing Type (15 known): Winglike oval above horse, two rings below.
COI 3c (ABC 1498; Talbot Bury C2) - Bury Helmet Pellet Type (14 known): Triad to left of bust's eye, stylised helmet. Seven pellets inside a ring above horse.
COI 3d (Talbot Bury C1a) - Bury Helmet Triskele Type (2 known): Ringed-pellet in front of head. Spoked wheel above horse, triskele below (see Chris Rudd List 172, 10 August 2020, lot 19).

Cottam and Rudd Chronology: Gallic War Unity (55-50BC) - Post-War Austerity (50-35BC) - Peaceful Prosperity (35BC-20) - Client-State Conformity (20-47) - Claudian Regality (43-47).
