Awers medalu przedstawia kopię medalu zaprojektowanego przez Jeremiasa Herculesa, który był sztancarzem (medalierem) w mennicy w Kopenhadze, w celu upamiętnienia bitwy morskiej u wybrzeży Elsinore (zamek Kronborg) w październiku 1658 r., kiedy to flota holenderska pokonała flotę szwedzką, a Dania znalazła się pod szwedzką okupacją.
