Hennin stwierdza w swojej "Histoire de la numismatique Française" (N°455 strona 335):
"Pan Michel Brezin, który pracował wówczas nad różnymi projektami dla mennicy paryskiej, zlecił wybicie tej próby w 1792 roku.
Z jego podpisów wynika, że został wykonany w celu udoskonalenia monety.
To właśnie po tym okresie użycie virolle zostało poddane konkurencji, dla której przyjęto procedury Philippe'a Gengembre'a.
