Dwukrotnie powtórzony napis "DÉPARTEMENT DE LA RÉUNION" jest wydrukowany w kolorze brązowym. Napis i wartość "1000" cyframi i literami są wydrukowane w kolorze ciemnoniebieskim. Numeracja i podpis są wydrukowane w kolorze czarnym. Po prawej stronie znajduje się symbol Unii Francuskiej z kobietą z Francji metropolitalnej patrzącą na kobietę z Indii Zachodnich przed gajem palmowym.
