Released in the coronation year of King Charles III, the designs feature eight brand-new reverse designs that pay tribute to King Charles III, the four nations of the United Kingdom and the natural world.
The 2023 coins were issued in a Brilliant Uncirculated Definitive Set (sales unknown), a BU historic set which included a set of 1948 coinage (issue limit: 2,023; sales 2,023) a first and last BU set (sales unknown) as well as in Proof (Issue limit: 12,023; sales unknown)

The 2023 coins issued in the Brilliant Uncirculated and Proof Sets featured a special Tudor crown privy mark. The coins that enter circulation will not feature the privy mark.

The 2024 coin was issued as part of the Annual Commemorative Proof (7,500 issue limit), Premium Commemorative Proof (2,024 issue limit) and Brilliant Uncirculated Commemorative sets.

The 2025 coin was issued as part of the Annual Commemorative Proof (7,500 issue limit), Premium Commemorative Proof (2,024 issue limit) and the Brilliant Uncirculated strike was in Commemorative sets.

The 2026 coin was issued as part of the Annual Commemorative Proof set (6,500 issue limit), Premium Commemorative Proof set (2,000 issue limit) and the Brilliant Uncirculated strike was in the Definitive set, the Annual set and the Baby Set.
