Comments
Emin Pasha urodził się jako Eduard Schnitzler w 1840 roku w Opolu. Lekarz i podróżnik po Afryce był w służbie egipskiej od 1871 r., został lekarzem rządowym w Sudanie w 1876 r. jako Emin Effendi, a w 1878 r. gubernatorem prowincji równikowej jako Emin Bei. W wyniku powstania Mahdiego zwrócił się ku Niemieckiej Afryce Wschodniej, wstąpił do niemieckiej służby w 1890 roku i podjął ekspedycję nad Jezioro Wiktorii, podczas której, przekraczając swoje zadanie, zawiesił niemiecką flagę nad Taborą 4 sierpnia 1890 roku. W 1892 r. został zamordowany w Kinema podczas wyprawy z rozkazu sułtana Kibongo.
