(en) Released individually to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the first bimetallic £2 coin. The coin has a special privy mark on the obverse and is also dual dated with the 1997 date on the reverse being the first year of issue. The coin was also struck in copper-nickel, silver piedfort and gold proof. Issue limit: 2,535.

This strike was issued after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II but the design continued to bear the image of The Queen, in support of His Majesty the King's ambition for a sustainable transition. This ensured minimal environmental impact as the designs, tools and packaging for these products had already been produced.
