Comments

(en) Local Spanish Civil War banknotes: Created by municipalities, cooperatives, unions and other organizations due to the scarcity of fiduciary currency in small purchases and exchanges during the Spanish Civil War.

Municipality: Cambrils de mar (Current name: Cambrils) - Province: Tarragona - Autonomous community: Catalonia

NOTE: The face value is expressed in Real (Ral in Catalan). The first peseta was minted in 1869, weighed 5 grams of silver and was equivalent to 4 Reales. When in the reign of Alfonso XIII coins of 25 Centimos of Peseta were minted, they received the name of Real, since they were the quarter of a peseta. Later, both the 2nd Republic and the Franco regime issued coins with the same value that continued to be called Reales (Rals in Catalan).
