Copper follaro is a city coin of Ulcinj under serbian rule. In numismatic literature this coin is mostly attributed to emperor Uroš (1355-1371). Some claim that it is the coin minted under his father Stefan Uroš IV Dušan (king 1331-1346, emperor 1346-1355), however Dušan did not use the name Uroš (Vrosivs) on his coins but his royal name Stefan. This variation with a title REX (king) next to rulers name (VROSIVS) can complicate its attribution. Other coins do not have REX on obverse - N# 236479 Photo

According to Jovanović this REX variant is an error or counterfeit because Dušan never used name Uroš on his coins even tho he was a king (1331-1346), and his son Uroš was only a king during his fathers reign as an heir to the throne while he was underage and had no authority to mint his own coins. Last option, which Jovanović also dismisses, is that this REX coin type was minted under king Stefan Uroš Milutin (1282-1321) who was the last to use name Urosius rex on his coins. However, that wouldn't fit the chronology of this issue.

Dobrinić puts this REX type under Uroš (1355-1371).

Also there are known mint marks left and right of Marry on reverse. Known marks: L and P
