W 1951 r. Toul był jedną z baz przyznanych NATO. Aktywność bazy osiągnęła szczyt podczas kryzysu berlińskiego w 1961 roku. Następnie stopniowo spadała aż do 1967 roku, kiedy to powróciła pod kontrolę Francji.
