Issued by the Banco Central de Venezuela (Central Bank of Venezuela) as part of the Bolívar soberano (Sovereign bolívar), and was issued into circulation on June 13, 2019. This note was issued because the previous 8 denominations of the Bolívar soberano had lost all of their value. Issuing this banknote into circulation would "make the payment system more efficient and facilitate commercial transactions"
