The design:

This series of Faroes banknotes features on the obverse a cut out of a local Faroes animal and the reverse is watercolour paintings of the islands, made by Zacharias Heinesen.

This video is about an applies mainly to the 2001 note (P# 24), but has relevant history and design elements relating to this, the 2011 note.

Security features:

The note has two solid security threads. The first one is a wide strip windowed into four pieces on the obverse on the right hand side. The second strip is a narrow plain black strip, more towards the middle of the note. Under backlight both strips can be seen in their entirety. The wide strip has consecration crosses across its entire length:

The note has two different appearances under UV, depending on the wavelength. In both cases most of the activity is on the reverse, with green fibres seen on both sides. The obverse looks like it has UV activity, but this is bleed-through of the UV active inks from the reverse.

Under UVA light, the note has blue fluorescence on the reverse as seen here at 365nm. It has green fibres on both sides and bleed through of the blue fluorescence to the obverse:

Under UVC light, the note has blue and green fluorescence on the reverse as seen here at 254nm. It has green fibres on both sides and bleed through of the blue fluorescence to the obverse:
