5 Kroner "Fem spir" Portrait and Landscape

Year:
The issuing year isn't printet on this note but the second and third cifre in the Prefix gives the two last digits of the year (19)60.

Variants:
In prefix A0 and A1 there is no dot after 7 in the text. Since in Danish ordinal numbers are indicated by a full stop after the number.

In prefix A2 this fault is changed to the correct with a dot after 7.

Prefix A2 exist with both types. From Prefix A3 and on, they all are with dot after 7.

Siegs Seddelkatalog, 2014 mentions:

Without dots exists up untill serial number 2560804.

With dots exists from 2893617.

So there is an unknown gab, between the two types.
 

Watermark difference:

The difference between SIEG SD#128 and SIEG SD#129 is the hight of the Watermak until Prefix A9 (19)55 the watermark is 11mm high (SIEG SD#128) and from Prefix B0 (19)55 the watermark is 13 mm tall (SIEG SD#129).

Signatures:
The right signature on this banknote is always: Riim "Chef for Seddelfaget"(Head of Notes). The left signature is from one of the 3 Directors for Danmarks Nationalbank.

Replacement notes
If a Note didn’t meet the quality standards it was replaced.

For this serie of banknotes there exist two different kind of replacement notes.

Either they have the suffix 0J or 0K.

0J were used when entire sheets had to be replaced.

0K were used when it was an individual note, which needed to be replaced.

So as a general rule, the 0J notes are more common than 0K notes.

For the 5 and 10 Kroner notes the placement of the note can be seen in the bottom right of the obverse

Be aware! For the replacement notes between 1951 to 1959 the year of issue is indicated as (19)50.

Please add replacement notes WITH sigantures in new lines, if they are missing, from the catalog.
 

Nickname:
Due to the reverse, this note have the nickname "fem spir" five spire. "Spir" is also a nickname/slang for money in general in Danish.
 

Little story:
According to Siegs Seddelkatalog 2014, the first obvers sketch of this note was drawn on a paper napkin in a small garden on Pile Allé on Frederiksberg.

Printer:

When the work with the new serie begun printing, the National Bank of Denmark's Printing didn't have the expertise to engrave the printing plates after the original drawings. Where this cange between printers are, is so far not know.
