About the motive:

This modern serie of Icelandic banknotes feature a famous person on the front and a related scene on the back.
The 1000 Krónur notes feature bishop Brynjólfur Sveinsson, who was the bishop of the cathedral featured on the back.

Security featues:

Different from the earlier notes of same value, this note also has advanced security features, like a segmented security line, a hidden latent image, and UV ink as seen below and some features only readable by electronic machines.

Most visible is the lack of top and bottom border, where the earlier series had a white border from the coloured motive the the edge of the paper.

The segmented security line has six visible foil segments on the obverse and contains the inscription of “1000KR” continuously repeated throughout when seen under a backlight:
