Mulita (czyli mały muł) to ssak osłonięty, najmniejszy gatunek z rodziny tatu (nazwa pochodzenia brazylijskiego, wywodząca się z rodzimego języka) i peludo (co oznacza włochaty, ponieważ ma długie i gęste włosy na ciele). Można je rozróżnić głównie po wielkości i liczbie pasów na tarczy. Dieta mulity i tatu jest głównie wegetariańska i owadożerna, podczas gdy peludo jest padlinożercą. Buduje długie jaskinie do życia i ochrony, a gdy jest w niebezpieczeństwie, może zgiąć swoje ciało w kształt kuli, dzięki czemu tarcza zakrywa wszystkie jego części.
Należy zauważyć, że przedstawione zwierzę ma 11 ruchomych pasm, co nie jest poprawne, ponieważ mulita ma tylko 7 pasm, tatu ma 9, a peludo ma tylko 6.
