The Dragon Dollar Restrikes silver round series was minted by the Shanghai Mint between 2018 and 2012, consisting of eight designs based on rare and valuable Chinese Dragon dollar coins from the 19th and 20th Century. These rounds had the year of issue, weight and purity laser-etched on the edge, the first time a Chinese mint had done this. The 2019 Dragon & Phoenix is the third issue of the series.
The classic pairing of the Dragon and Phoenix symbolizes the perfect Ying & Yang balance and marital bliss, often associated with Imperial weddings. The Twelve Symbols Emblem is a national emblem used on Republic of China coins while the Wreath of Grain represents prosperity and abundance.
