(en) Designed by Tony Bianco, your coin steps into the Canadian wilderness on a moonlit night, where the viewer gets arare glimpse of a secretive nocturnal hunter. Rhodium plating stands in for the dark night and fills most of the field, except for the full moon engraved at the centre. The polished shine of the coin's silver surface mimics the effect of moonlight spilling across the nocturnal setting, revealing the shadowy figure of a cougar (Puma concolor). The side profile view highlights the spectacular agility of this muscular wild cat, whose large paws and sharp claws allow it to move nimbly along the twisted tree limb. Also engraved on the reverse are the words "CANADA", the face value "20 DOLLARS" and the year "2018".

(fr) •Le couguar porte différents noms : les colons anglais de l'est du continent le nommaient autrefois « panthère », et les Américains lui donnent aujourd'hui le nom de « lion de montagne ». En Amérique latine, cette espèce est baptisée « puma ».
•Il nage et grimpe avec aisance. Il peut bondir à une hauteur de plus de six mètres, et ses griffes acérées l'aident à grimper et à s'agripper fermement.
•Contrairement au loup, le couguar n'est pas fait pour courir plus vite que ses proies. Il doit donc les suivre de près, discrètement, jusqu'au moment d'attaquer. Il enfonce alors ses canines à l'arrière du cou de sa victime ou la mord à la gorge pour l'achever rapidement.
•Il nage et grimpe avec aisance. Il peut bondir à une hauteur de plus de six mètres, et ses griffes acérées l'aident à grimper et à s'agripper fermement.
