KM#97.1: Krawędź z trzciny
KM#97.2: Gładka krawędź
W przypadku tej monety po raz pierwszy użyto brązu Bronzital lub brązu aluminiowego. Oprócz miedzi zawierał on od 7,5 do 8,5 części aluminium i od 0,3 do 0,6 części tytanu. Ten ostatni pierwiastek utrudniał obróbkę stopu i z tego powodu w 1959 roku produkcja 20 lirów została zawieszona.
W 1967 roku stop Bronzital został zmodyfikowany, przyjmując następujący skład: aluminium 6%, nikiel 2%, reszta (92%) miedzi. W ten sposób przezwyciężono trudności techniczne związane z przetwarzaniem i wznowiono bicie w 1968 roku.
