Moneta została wyprodukowana podczas wojny rosyjsko-tureckiej w latach 1771-1774 na polecenie rządu rosyjskiego w prywatnej mennicy Sadogursky (Sadagura) na terytorium współczesnej Rumunii. Podwójny nominał (w rosyjskiej i lokalnej walucie) przyczynił się do ustalenia prawidłowych ekwiwalentów w obliczeniach z miejscową ludnością w zakresie zaopatrzenia, głównie w żywność i paszę.
